Sai Darbar

Our place is located right at Shop No 3 in Subhash Chowk here in Kalyan City. Most people know the area because of Parlikar Timber, which is just a short walk away from our front door. Every morning starts about the same way, with the metal shutters going up and the sound of the early traffic starting to hum through the streets of Thane. It is a busy corner of the world, and the dust from the road usually finds its way inside no matter how much we sweep. We have been in this spot for a while now, and we have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit, but Subhash Chowk stays as hectic as ever. The shop itself is not very big, but it serves us well for what we do every day. We usually have a pot of tea going in the back, and the local delivery drivers often stop by just to say hello or check the time. It gets quite hot in the middle of the day, so we mostly stay inside under the fans until the sun starts to go down over the city. We do not have any fancy signs or big displays, just the basic setup that has worked for us since we opened. People usually find us by looking for the timber yard landmark first. It is a practical way to spend the day, dealing with neighbors and making sure the work gets finished before it gets too dark to see clearly.
