Sachin Engineering Works

Our little shop, Sachin Engineering Works, is located at W-90 (B) in the M.I.D.C. sheds in Chikhaloli. It’s a regular industrial shed, nothing special to look at from the outside. Inside, we’ve got our machines and tools set up for the engineering work we do. We mostly handle small parts and repair jobs for the bigger factories nearby. It’s dirty, greasy work, and we usually go home with oil on our hands. We’ve been in this shed for a long time now. The M.I.D.C. area can be a bit rough around the edges, but it’s where the work is. We don’t have an office with a fan or a computer most of the time. We just have our workspace and the machines. We aren't into big marketing plans or anything like that. We just rely on the fact that we’ve been here a while and people know we do a decent job. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon and we just sit outside and have a tea until it comes back on. That’s just how it goes here in Chikhaloli. We don't have any fancy titles. I'm usually the one answering the phone and running the lathe at the same time. It’s a simple life and it keeps us going. We just try to finish what we started and hope the customer is happy enough to come back next time. That is pretty much our whole story.
