Richard Engineering Works

Down in Ambernath West, in the MIDC Chemical Zone, you’ll find us at Plot 25. It’s a specific kind of area to work in. The air is different here, and there’s a lot of heavy industry all around us. Richard Engineering Works isn't a place with carpets or air conditioning in the workshop. It’s a place for heavy boots and greasy hands. We do a lot of fixing and making, mostly for the other plants in the zone. The building itself is older, with some rust on the gates and walls that could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it’s sturdy. We spend a lot of time out on the floor, shouting over the noise of the lathes or the welding sets. It’s not for everyone, but it’s what we know. The road outside is usually potholed from all the heavy trucks, so getting here can be a bit of a bumpy ride. We have a small crew, and we mostly just stick to ourselves. There isn't much talk about big plans; we just look at what’s on the schedule for the day and get to it. Sometimes we stay late when a job is urgent, eating snacks from the shop down the road. It’s a regular engineering life in a regular industrial town. We’ve been at Plot 25 for a long time now. It’s just us doing the work we’ve always done.
