We started Pooja Meals in Jogeshwari West because it seemed like a good place to be. Our kitchen is usually a bit of a chaotic mess in the early mornings when we are getting everything ready for the day. There is always the sound of chopping and the hiss of the stoves going. We don’t have a big fancy dining room or anything like that. It is mostly just a place where food gets made and sent out to people. The heat in Jogeshwari during the summer makes the kitchen feel even hotter, so we have a few big industrial fans going all the time to keep the air moving. Sometimes the delivery guys are standing around outside waiting for their orders, talking about the traffic or the weather. We use simple ingredients and just cook things the way we know how. There are days when we run out of things earlier than expected, and we have to tell people we are closed for the day. Our staff is small, just a few of us who have been working together for a long time. We know the local streets and shortcuts pretty well by now. The neighborhood is always busy and noisy, so there is never really a quiet moment outside our door. We just focus on getting the containers filled and the bags packed for the lunch rush. It is just a plain, honest business. We don't try to be anything we aren't, we just stay busy here.
