Our workshop is units 8 and 9 in the Nirmal Industrial Estate. It’s on Ram Mandir Road in Goregaon West. If you come by, you’ll definitely hear us before you see us. Metal work isn’t quiet, and there’s usually the sound of cutting or grinding going on during the day. It’s a dusty, busy place, but that’s the nature of what we do. Patel Metal Industries isn’t a corporate office with air conditioning in every corner. We spend most of our time on the shop floor making sure the production is moving. The industrial estate has a lot of other businesses just like ours, so there’s always trucks moving in and out of the narrow lanes. Sometimes it’s a bit of a struggle to get things loaded when the road is blocked, but we manage. We’ve got a team of guys who know their way around the machinery. We don’t spend much time writing long reports or having big meetings. We just talk over the noise and get the orders ready. Ram Mandir Road is always busy, especially during the monsoon when things get a bit messy. But we show up, do the work, and make sure the metal parts are done right. It’s hard work and the hours can be long when we have a big batch to finish. That’s just life in an industrial estate in Goregaon. We don't have fancy coffee machines, just a kettle and some tea bags in the corner to keep us going.
