Down in Bonkode Village, specifically in Sector-12D of Kopar Khairane, you’ll find Om Sai Fabrication & Engg. Work. This area still feels a bit like a village even though everything else around it has grown into big buildings and roads. Our shop is a practical space where we deal with all kinds of iron and steel. We make a lot of safety grills for balconies and sturdy doors for shops and houses. The air is usually thick with the smell of burnt metal and paint because we do everything right here on the premises. It’s a local operation, so we don't have any corporate protocols or fancy reception desks. If a customer walks in, they talk directly to the person who’s going to be doing the actual welding. We’ve had the same neighbors for years, and they often stop by just to say hello or ask for a small favor with a broken gate. It gets hot under the tin roof when the sun is out, but we just keep the fans running and stay at it. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in Navi Mumbai, we just want to make sure the gates we build don't sag and the welds hold up over time. It’s been our way since we opened. We just show up, put on our masks, and get to work on whatever the day brings.
