Noronhas Kitchen

Noronhas Kitchen is tucked away in Jogeshwari West on Harni Road. We are part of the Sahjanad Society area. It’s a quiet enough spot compared to the main roads, but we still keep pretty busy. I started this because I wanted a place to cook the kind of food I like eating. Most days, I’m in the back chopping onions or stirring a big pot of gravy. The kitchen is small and it gets quite humid, but that’s where all the work happens. We don’t have a flashy sign or a big dining room. It’s more of a local kitchen where people know they can get a decent meal. I often find myself running out to the local market to grab a few things we forgot. The sink is always full of dishes and there is a constant sound of something sizzling on the burner. We don’t have a corporate office or anything like that; it’s just me and a couple of helpers. Sometimes we make mistakes, maybe a dish is a bit more spicy than intended, but we just try to do better the next time. Jogeshwari is a crowded place, and we are just happy to have our little corner here. It’s a humble setup, but it feels right for us. We just keep our heads down and keep the stoves burning for the neighborhood. It's a lot of hours on our feet, but we like it.
