New Tool Industries

Out here in Upvan, at the Shanti Industrial Estate, you can find us at Plot No.233. We are right across from the Rajat Printing Press, so that’s usually how people find the place. New Tool Industries is what we call ourselves. We make tools, mostly the kind that other businesses use for their own work. It’s an industrial area, so it’s not exactly quiet or pretty. There are trucks coming and going all day on Pokhran Road No. 1. Inside the shop, things are usually a bit of a mess, but a productive mess. We have lathes and milling machines that have seen better days but still run fine if you know how to handle them. We spend most of our time looking at blueprints or measuring pieces of metal down to the millimeter. It can be tedious work. Sometimes a piece doesn't come out right and we have to start over from scratch. That's just part of being in the tool business. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby. If you come by, you’ll probably find us on the floor working. The air smells like machine oil and coolant most of the time. We’ve been at this plot for a good long while now. We know the other folks in the estate, and we all just try to get through our orders. It’s a living. We don't try to be anything we aren't and just focus on the task in front of us.
