You can find us in Thakur Complex, which is a pretty big residential area in Kandivali East. We are at Shop Number 9. There is a hotel called Avenue Hotel nearby that everyone knows, so that’s the best way to explain where we are. The shop is one of those places where you can find a bit of everything. We keep it stocked with the stuff people need every day. Thakur Complex is usually quite busy with people walking their dogs or kids coming back from school. We see a lot of that from our front door. The shop isn't very large, so we have to be smart about how we pile up the boxes. It’s mostly just us standing behind the counter and helping whoever comes in. Sometimes it’s just someone looking for a cold drink or a pack of biscuits. We don’t have any fancy lights or big signs. It’s just Nayak Stores. The morning is usually the quietest time, so that’s when we do the cleaning and the accounts. By the afternoon, it starts picking up. Kandivali has changed a lot, with more buildings going up all the time, but the way we run the store stays about the same. We just have what the locals need and try to keep things moving. It’s a steady kind of life here in the complex. No one is in a huge rush except during the morning commute, and we like being part of the neighborhood.
