Navjeevan Engineering Works

The workshop is located in D-18, Phase-II of the MIDC area in Dombivli East. It’s a typical industrial spot, so there’s always the sound of hammers or grinding wheels coming from somewhere. Navjeevan Engineering Works is where we spend most of our waking hours. We’ve got some old machines that still work better than the new ones, and we spend a lot of time maintaining them. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings by lunchtime. It’s a bit of a trek to get here if you’re coming from the station, but it’s where all the work happens. We started this because we liked making things and realized we could do it on our own. We don't have a front desk or a receptionist. If you come by, you’ll probably find us under a machine or talking to a supplier near the entrance. The heat in the afternoon can get pretty bad under the tin roof, but we’ve got a couple of big fans that help a bit. We don't do much fancy talking here. We just look at the drawings, cut the metal, and try to make sure everything lines up. It’s a lot of physical work and the days are long, especially when we have a deadline. We just keep our heads down and do what needs to be done to get the orders ready for the trucks.
