Nagrik Provision Store

You can find us at Shop No 7 and 8 inside the Ramkunj Chawl on Akurli Road. We are right here in the middle of Kandivali, which is always a busy place to be. Our store is a typical provision shop where we keep all the daily essentials that families need. We have been here for years, and the shop has seen a lot of changes in the neighborhood. We stock everything from different types of rice and lentils to cleaning supplies and snacks. The shelves are packed tight, and sometimes we have to use a ladder to reach the items stored high up. It is a family business, so you will usually see one of us behind the counter. We don't have any air conditioning or fancy lighting, just a few fans to keep the air moving during the hot Mumbai afternoons. When the evening comes, Akurli Road gets very loud with all the traffic and people walking home from the station. That is usually our busiest time. We spend those hours weighing out bags of sugar or counting out change. We try to keep our prices fair so that our neighbors keep coming back. We don’t have a website or a delivery app; we just prefer it when people walk in and have a chat while we pack their groceries. Sometimes it gets messy with opened crates, but we clean it up before closing. It is a very normal, local life here at Ramkunj Chawl, and we wouldn't have it any other way.
