Modern Pattern Works

If you are coming down the Eastern Express Highway, you know how crazy the traffic can get. We are tucked away in Gaonkar Industrial Estate, over in Namdev Vadi near Panch Pakhadi. It’s a bit of a maze to find us the first time, but once you know the way, it’s not so bad. At Modern Pattern Works, we spend our time making patterns for casting and whatever else the local foundries need. It’s old-fashioned work in a way, using your hands and your eyes to make sure the shapes are just right. The workshop has that smell of wood and metal that never really goes away. We’ve got a small crew, just a few guys who have been doing this since they were young. We don’t have a website or anything like that, we just rely on people knowing we are here. The area around Panch Pakhadi has changed a lot over the years with new buildings going up, but our little corner of the industrial estate stays pretty much the same. We take our tea breaks outside when the weather is nice, watching the trucks go by on the highway. It is a lot of hard work and sometimes the deadlines get a bit tight, but we always find a way to get the patterns finished. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we know how to do. We just keep our heads down and stay busy with the tools. This place is home to us.
