Microcon Engineering Works

Microcon Engineering Works is tucked away in the Shabnam Mek Industrial Estate. If you’re driving down the Old Mumbai Pune Road in Mumbra, you might miss the turnoff if you aren't looking for it. We are in Building C, Survey No.102/B. It’s a proper industrial setting, meaning it’s loud, there’s a lot of metal clanging around, and the floor is never really clean no matter how much we sweep. We do engineering work here, mostly focused on parts and repairs that require some heavy machinery. The estate is always buzzing with other small workshops and there is a constant smell of oil and cut steel in the air. It’s a bit of a maze getting to our specific building, especially when there are delivery trucks blocking the narrow lanes. We’ve been in Thane district for quite a while now. The crew is a small group of guys who don’t mind getting their hands dirty. We usually have the radio playing in the background, though you can barely hear it over the grinders. It’s a tough environment but we’re used to it. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit and we all just sit outside and wait for it to come back. It’s just a normal day-to-day operation here. We don't have a fancy reception area, just the workshop and a small desk where we keep the ledger and the phone.
