Out here in Kandivali East on Kavi Ponna Road, things are usually moving pretty fast. Our place at number 315 is where we handle all our metalwork. It’s a decent-sized space, but it fills up quickly when we have a big order of steel sheets or rods. We have a few grinders and welding sets that we use every day. The sparks are always flying in one corner or another. We try to keep things organized, but when you’re busy, tools end up all over the place. The workbench is scarred from all the cutting and hammering we do. We don’t have any fancy office staff. Usually, one of us just wipes our hands on a rag and takes the phone calls when they come in. The road outside can get pretty jammed up with delivery vans, so we have to be quick when we’re loading or unloading. The walls are painted a dull grey, and there are posters for tool companies that have been there for years. We get a lot of local contractors stopping by to see if we can help them out with something. It’s a straightforward business. We show up, do the fabrication work, and head home when the sun goes down. It’s mostly about getting the angles right and making sure the welds are solid. That’s what we spend our time on.
