You’ll find us at B/52 on Laheripura Road in Jogeshwari West. It’s a pretty cramped part of the city, like most of Mumbai, but we’ve made our home in this spot. We do a lot of mechanical work and small-scale manufacturing. The shop floor is always busy with something. There’s the constant smell of oil and the sound of metal being worked on by the machines. We have a few old lathes that still run perfectly well after all these years. It’s not the kind of place with air conditioning or sleek furniture. We have a couple of wooden benches for people to sit on and some old fans that wobble a bit when they're on high. We’ve been in Jogeshwari for a long time, so we know most of the people who live and work on our street. Sometimes neighbors just drop by to chat or ask for a bit of help with a mechanical problem they're having at home. We don’t have a big fancy website or a social media page to show off. We just do our daily work and hope the quality of the parts is enough. It’s a lot of manual labor and long hours, especially when we have a big batch of orders to finish by the end of the week. The street outside is usually crowded with vendors and scooters, which makes getting materials in and out a bit of a challenge sometimes. But we’ve gotten used to the chaos and the noise.
