Our place is Mandvi Beach Resorts India Private Limited, and we are situated at Plot, Palm Beach Villas, Survey No. 241. It’s a common area, not too hard to find if you know the Mandvi coast. We aren't some giant international hotel chain. We’re just a private company trying to run a decent spot by the water. The sea air is nice, but it sure does a number on the paint and the metal fixtures. We spend a lot of time repainting and fixing things that the salt air ruins. It’s a lot of upkeep, to be honest. We don't have a lot of staff, just a few of us who do a bit of everything. One day I’m checking the plumbing, the next I’m helping with the bookings. It stays interesting. People come here to get away from the noise of the city. We don’t have loud music or big parties all the time. It’s more of a quiet, regular place. We’ve had some good years and some tough ones, especially when the weather gets rough. The Palm Beach Villas area is pretty relaxed. We just focus on keeping the rooms ready and the grounds looking okay. It’s a simple business model. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to provide a place where you can see the beach. Sometimes the sand gets everywhere, even inside the office, but that's just part of being this close to the ocean. We keep several brooms handy at all times.
