Krishna Provision Stores

Krishna Provision Stores is tucked away in Kandivali East 22 and we’ve been here serving the local folks for quite a while. Most days start pretty early for us when the milk crates arrive and we have to get everything stacked before the morning rush begins. It’s a small space so we have to be careful about where we put the sacks of rice and the boxes of biscuits. You’ll usually find one of us behind the counter or climbing a ladder to reach something on the top shelf. The fans stay on all day but it still gets warm when the shop is full of people. We keep a bit of everything because you never know what someone might need for their kitchen at the last minute. It might be a single packet of spice or a whole month's worth of groceries. We know most of the people who walk through the door by their names since they live just down the street. It’s not a fancy supermarket with bright lights, just a regular neighborhood store where the floor is a bit worn from all the walking. We spend a lot of time just chatting with the neighbors while we weigh out their lentils or pack their bags. It’s just how things go around here in Kandivali. We keep the shelves stocked as best as we can and try to keep things simple for everyone.
