Kokan Khazina

Our shop is at Shop No 2 in the Inder Samruti building. We are located on Agyari Lane, right in the Chambi Naka area of Thane West. It’s quite easy to find us since we are near the Kotak Mahindra Bank. We sell things that come from the Konkan region. It’s a small shop, but we try to pack it with as much as we can. We have all sorts of local items that people miss from their hometowns. The space is a bit tight, so you have to be careful not to knock things over. We don't have a big staff. It is usually just one or two of us behind the counter. We spend a lot of time talking to customers about the products. We aren't trying to be a big supermarket. We like the small-scale feel. Sometimes the stock arrives late because of the traffic in Thane, but we do our best. The walls are lined with jars and packets. It smells like home to a lot of people who come in. We don't do any big advertising. People just see the sign when they are walking to the bank or the market. It’s a nice little corner for us. We just want to keep bringing a bit of the coast to the city. It’s a modest living but we enjoy seeing familiar faces.
