Kala Gear Engineering is located at Plot 53/54 in the Veena Dalvai Industrial Estate. We are right on S.V. Road in Jogeshwari West, so it’s easy to get to, even if the traffic is usually heavy. We specialize in making gears. Our shop is full of the sound of machines cutting through metal all day long. We make all sorts of gears for different kinds of machinery. It is the kind of work where you have to be very precise. If a gear is off by just a hair, it will make a lot of noise or just break the whole machine. We aren't a big, fancy company. We are just a group of people who know how to work the lathes and the cutters. The floor is often covered in metal bits and oil, but that’s just how it goes when you’re making things from scratch. We have been here in Jogeshwari for a long time and we know most of the other shop owners in the estate. We don't do much in the way of advertising. Most of our work comes from people who have been coming to us for years. Sometimes someone brings in a very old gear that is worn down and we have to figure out how to replicate it exactly. It’s a bit of a puzzle sometimes, but we like the challenge. We just show up, do the work, and try to make gears that actually last.
