Gupta Store

Our store is on Station Road in Thakurli, right in the Shiv Krupa Building. We are at Plot No. 7, which is quite close to the police station and the Joshi Vadi area. Since we are on the road to the station, we get a lot of people walking by at all hours. Chole Gaon is a busy neighborhood, and we’ve been a part of it for a good amount of time. We sell all sorts of things that people might need on their way home. It’s a typical local shop with stuff stacked up to the ceiling. We don't have a lot of space, so we have to be clever about where we put the rice bags or the soaps. Some days are very hectic, especially when the trains let out and everyone is in a hurry. We just try to serve people quickly and keep the line moving. It’s a simple life, mostly spent behind the counter or checking the inventory. We don't use any fancy systems; we just remember what we have and where it is. The building is older, but it serves us well. Sometimes we chat with the regular customers about the local news or the weather. We aren't trying to be the biggest store around, just a reliable place for the people in Thakurli to get what they need. It gets hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fan running full speed.
