We have been here at Plot No. A-189 on Road 16-A for quite some time now. Wagle Industrial Estate in Thane (W) is a busy place, and it gets pretty loud with all the factories around us. Our workshop is just one of many, but we know the regulars who pass by every morning. We do precision machine tool work, which basically means a lot of measuring and cutting metal. It is not glamorous work. Most days the floor is covered in metal shavings and there is that smell of machine oil that never really goes away, no matter how much you scrub. Some of the guys have been working these machines for years. We get our tea from the stall down the road and usually eat lunch together in the back office when it isn't too hot. Thane gets humid, and inside the shed it can feel like a sauna in May. We don't have fancy office chairs or a receptionist at the front. If you come by, you'll probably find someone in greasy overalls first. The machines we use are solid, even if some look a bit older than others. People come to us when they need something specific made. We just try to get the dimensions right and finish the job before the sun goes down. It's a living, and it keeps us busy enough that the weeks go by fast. Road No. 16-A has changed over the years, but we are still right here.
