Aswad Sandwiches

Aswad Sandwiches is a small shop located at Manekbaug 43 in Kandivali East. We don't have a huge space, just enough for us to work and a small area for people to stand. We’ve been making sandwiches here for a good while now. It’s a lot of repetitive work, slicing bread and prepping vegetables every morning before the sun really gets high. We don't have a big team, usually just two or three of us behind the counter. It gets cramped when we are busy, but we’ve learned how to move around without getting in each other's way. The shop is pretty basic. We have a fridge, a toaster, and a few cutting boards. We don't do any fancy plating or use expensive wrappers. It’s just food wrapped in paper for people on the go. Being in Manekbaug means we see the same people every day on their way to work or school. We don't have a website or a big social media page. Most of our customers just live nearby or work in the local shops. Sometimes the toaster breaks down or we run out of tomatoes, and we just have to tell people and keep going. It’s not a polished business, just a local sandwich shop trying to stay busy and keep the counters clean. We like being in Kandivali East a lot.
