Almco Engineering Works

Our workshop, Almco Engineering Works, is located in Kandivali East at G 601. It’s a decent sized space but it feels smaller because of all the equipment and raw materials we keep inside. We have been working out of this location for a while now. The neighborhood is mostly residential and commercial, so we try not to make too much noise too early in the morning. We do various types of engineering jobs. Most of the time, we are busy with lathe machines or welding. It’s the kind of place where you have to watch where you step because there might be some metal scraps on the floor. We aren't a big company with a HR department or anything like that. It’s just a few of us who have been doing this for years. We learned the trade by doing it, not from a book. When a customer brings in a part that needs fixing, we just look at it and figure it out. The office part of the shop is just a small desk in the corner with a calendar and some old invoices. We don’t have a website or anything like that. People usually find us by word of mouth or by just walking into the shop. It gets hot in the summer and we have a couple of fans that don't do much, but we get the work done. We just show up, do the jobs that are waiting for us, and head home after a long shift.
