We run our food service out of B/9 Guruprasad CHS in Virar. It’s basically a busy kitchen where someone is always chopping vegetables or checking on a big pot of gravy. Cooking for large groups of people is a lot different than making dinner at home, and we learned that early on. We started this because we liked the idea of feeding people for their events, and it just grew from there. The early mornings are the hardest part, especially when we have to get breakfast orders out to different locations. Our kitchen isn't huge, but we make it work by staying organized and making sure the stove stays hot. Sometimes the delivery van gets stuck in traffic, which is a headache we deal with almost every day in this area. We don't do anything fancy or over-the-top, just straightforward meals that people enjoy eating at weddings or small gatherings. You’ll find us mostly talking about ingredients or arguing over the best way to spice a certain dish. It gets pretty loud and humid in the kitchen, but that's how it goes when you're preparing food for hundreds of people at once. We’ve had our fair share of burnt pans and busy weekends where we barely sleep. But at the end of the day, seeing the empty containers come back is a good sign that we did things right. It is a lot of work, but we are used to the rush.
