Adiba Stones Tandur

Out here in Tandur village, things move a bit slower than in the big cities, but we stay busy with the stones. We are located right in the heart of the district in Rangareddy. Most of what we do involves the local Tandur stone that everyone around here knows about. Our yard is usually full of slabs in different shades of grey and blue. It’s heavy work. Moving these stones around takes a lot of effort and we usually end the day pretty tired. The dust from the cutting and polishing gets on everything, including our clothes and the old truck we use. We don't have a big corporate office or a polished front desk. It’s just the village life where we deal directly with the people who need stone for their floors or courtyards. Sometimes customers come by from quite far away just to see the quality of the batch we have that week. Every stone is a little bit different, which is something you learn after working here for a while. We spend a lot of time checking the edges and making sure nothing is cracked before it goes out. It’s just us and the machines out here in the open air. It can get very hot in Rangareddy, but the work doesn’t stop because people are always building something new.
