About Jayant Metals – Metals & Minerals in Surendranagar
In the middle of the GIDC Estate, specifically Phase 3, you’ll find Jayant Metals at unit 506-b. It’s a loud place, if I’m being honest. Between the metal being moved and the machines running, there isn't much room for quiet conversation. We’ve all gotten pretty good at shouting over the noise when we need to tell someone something. The air always has that faint metallic smell to it. We deal with a lot of heavy lifting here. My back definitely feels it by the end of the week, but you get used to the physical side of things. We aren't a corporate office with fancy chairs; most of us sit on stools or whatever is handy during our breaks. The yard outside is usually full of stacks of metal waiting to be processed. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes. We’ve had the same crew for a few years now, so we know how each other works without having to say much. The tea guy comes by twice a day, and that’s usually the highlight of the afternoon. The radio usually plays some old songs in the background, but you can barely hear it over the grinders. We don’t bother with much marketing or trying to look bigger than we are. People know where we are if they need us. The gate squeaks every time it opens, and we keep saying we’ll oil it, but we never seem to get around to it because there’s always something more urgent to do.
