Yash Mobile

Yash Mobile is located on Ranoji Rao Road, specifically in the Md Block area of Basavanagudi. If you know Bangalore - 7, you know it can get pretty loud and busy around here. The shop itself is quite small, honestly, it’s mostly just a counter and a wall full of those plastic phone cases. I’ve been working here for a few years now, and the space always feels a bit cramped because we have so many boxes of chargers and screen protectors everywhere. We do a lot of recharges for people who walk in off the street, and I spend a lot of time hunched over a workbench fixing broken charging ports or replacing batteries that have puffed up. It’s a lot of tiny screws and keeping your hands steady while the buses roar past outside on Ranoji Rao Road. There’s a small radio we keep on the shelf that mostly plays old songs, which helps pass the time when things are slow. I try to keep the glass on the display cases clean, but with so many people coming in and out, there are always fingerprints. It’s just me and sometimes my younger brother helping out when school is out. We aren't a big showroom, just a local mobile point where people come when they drop their phone or need a new cable. It’s a decent living and I know most of the people who live in Md Block by now.
