Down in Rustampura at 2/24 on Agiyari Street is where you’ll find Vir Manibhadra Silkfabrics Privatelimited. It’s an old part of town and the streets are narrow. You have to be careful driving a big car down here or you might get stuck between the walls. The building has been here for a bit and it shows its age in some spots but it works for what we need. Inside it’s mostly just stacks of silk and fabrics everywhere you look. It smells like textiles and old wood. I sit at a small desk near the window so I can see who is coming up the street. It’s a family-run kind of vibe though we are a private limited company on paper. We don't have many meetings or fancy presentations. Usually we are just talking to customers on the phone or checking the quality of the latest batch. The light in the afternoon is actually quite nice through the old windows even if they are a bit grimy. Sometimes the neighbors come by to chat and we take a break. It's a quiet routine most days unless there's a big delivery. We don't spend much time on decorations or making things look pretty for outsiders. It’s a workspace first and foremost. People know where to find us if they need silk. We just keep doing what we know how to do without making a big fuss about it. It’s just us.
