We are set up at Amish Fabrics, which is located in units 31 and 32 of the Ambica Industrial Society. Being in an industrial area means things are always moving and there is a lot of heavy work going on around us. Our space is filled with rolls of fabric and the sound of machines from the nearby units. It’s not a place for window shopping, really. It’s more for people who know what they want and need to get things done. We spend most of our time organizing the stock and making sure the numbers match up at the end of the day. The society is a bit old, so the walls have some cracks and the paint is peeling in places, but it’s a good spot for a business like ours. We don't have a front desk or a receptionist. If you come in, you’ll probably find one of us moving a pallet or checking a shipment. It’s a lot of physical labor, and by the end of the day, we are usually pretty tired. But it feels good to see the trucks loaded up and ready to go. We’ve been here in the Ambica Industrial Society for a long time now. We know the other owners and we all kind of look out for each other. It’s a practical, hardworking environment, and that’s exactly where we belong. It isn't perfect, but it works for us.
