Anas Textile

We are right in the middle of the daily chaos at Tirupati Textile Market on Ring Road. If you’ve ever been to this part of town, you know exactly how it is. Trucks are always unloading, and guys are carrying big bales of fabric on their shoulders all day long. Our place is unit 118 on the first floor. It’s right near the New Textile Market, so there is never really a quiet moment. Anas Textile is basically just a room full of fabric rolls and samples. We spend a lot of time talking to traders and checking the quality of the cloth coming in from the mills. The air usually has a bit of lint floating around, and the smell of new dye is pretty strong. We don't have fancy displays or a big showroom. People come here because they know we have the stock they need. We’ve been on Ring Road for a long time, so we’ve seen the market change and grow over the years. It’s a tough business sometimes, especially when the prices of cotton or polyester jump around without warning. We just keep our heads down and keep moving the goods. Lunch is usually something quick we eat while sitting on a stack of grey goods in the corner. By the time evening rolls around and the market starts to wind down, we’re usually pretty tired and ready to go home. But that’s the life of a textile person in this city. You just get used to the noise.
