Agarwal Textile Mills

Our mill is up on Katargam Tumkur Road. If you see the Mehata Petrol Pump, you’re pretty close. We are actually located right above the Jain Mandir. It’s an interesting spot because you can hear the bells from the temple while we work. Agarwal Textile Mills is a busy place, mostly filled with the sound of machines and the smell of fabric. We’ve got rolls of cloth stacked up nearly to the ceiling in some corners. It’s a family-run thing, and we’ve been doing this for many years. The stairs leading up can be a bit steep, especially when we’re carrying bundles of yarn. We don't have a fancy showroom. Most of the space is taken up by the looms and the cutting tables. It’s dusty work, and there’s always lint in the air. We keep a couple of old fans running to stay cool. People come by to look at samples or pick up orders they placed last week. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We just make the cloth and try to get the colors right. Sometimes the power goes out, which is a headache, but we just wait it out. It’s a noisy, busy, messy environment, but it’s our life. We know the neighbors well, and they know us. We just focus on the textiles and getting the work done every day. There is a small chai stall downstairs that we visit way too often.
