Suvin Agencies

Our place is at 10, Shreeji Industrial Estate. It is a big complex with a lot of other businesses making noise and moving things around. Suvin Agencies is mostly a warehouse space with a small section partitioned off for the office work. We have rows of metal shelving that go all the way up to the ceiling, filled with all sorts of inventory. Most of the day is spent unloading trucks or packing up boxes for the next day's delivery. It’s a bit cold in the winter and really hot in the summer because the roof is just corrugated metal. We have a small radio that plays local music to keep us from getting bored while we count the stock. The concrete floor is stained with oil and marks from the pallet jack. We don't have fancy furniture, just some plastic chairs and a metal desk where we keep the invoices. It is hard work and our backs usually ache by the end of the day. Sometimes we share some snacks with the guys from the unit next door during the afternoon break. There is a lot of shouting back and forth to be heard over the machines in the estate. We just focus on getting the right items into the right boxes so they can get where they need to go. It’s a simple operation but it keeps us very busy until the sun goes down.
