Running this place at Surat Ronak Park Socity 12 keeps us on our toes because there is always something going on with the seasons. It is not like a regular shop where things stay the same. Here, we are always looking at dirt or seeds and trying to figure out why someone’s crop is not growing right. Farmers come in with handfuls of leaves or soil, asking what happened. It gets pretty dusty in here with all the bags of fertilizer and feed stacked up in the corner. We spend a lot of time just talking to people about the rain and how the ground feels this year. It is a local thing, really. We know most of the people who walk through the door by their first names. The shop isn't very large, and sometimes it feels a bit cramped when three or four people are in here at once arguing about the best time to plant. We keep our ledgers by hand mostly, sitting at the old wooden desk that has seen better days. The floor needs a sweep every hour because of the mud people track in from the fields. It’s hard work and the smell of the supplies can be strong, but it is what we do. We just stay here and help out with whatever bug or blight is bothering the local plants. It is a quiet life in Ronak Park but it's ours.
