Our unit is located on the third floor of the Anupam Textile Market, Shop number 3088. This is in the Mithikhadi area of Umarwada. Being on the third floor means a lot of waiting for the service lift, especially when we have large batches of cloth to move. If the lift is broken, it’s a real nightmare taking things up the stairs. The Anupam market is always buzzing with people from all over. It’s a bit of a maze inside if you don't know your way around. Our shop is mostly filled with the looms and the weaving equipment. There isn't much space left for people to walk, honestly. We have to be very organized or we wouldn't be able to get anything done. The air is always a bit thick with lint, which is just part of the weaving business. We keep a couple of fans going to try and stay cool, but they don't do much in the peak of summer. We mostly just focus on the technical side of the weaving and making sure the patterns are correct. It’s a lot of looking at threads and adjusting tensions. We don't really have time for anything else. Umarwada is a gritty, hardworking part of Surat, and we fit right in. We just stay busy in shop 3088 and try to get our orders finished on time.
