Sarjan Silk Mills Private Limited

You can find us over at the Zenon building, specifically in units 123 and 124. We are right on Bamroli Road in Surat, not too far from the Kiran Motors showroom. It’s a busy stretch of road and there is always a lot of dust from the trucks passing by. Our mill works mostly with silk, which is a bit more delicate than what some of our neighbors handle. Inside, the machines are pretty constant. It is that repetitive rhythmic sound that you just get used to after a week of working here. The space isn’t very large, so we have to be careful about how we store the raw material and the finished silk rolls. Most of the time, the office area is just a small corner with a fan and some old ledgers. We don’t really do much in the way of decorating. It is more about getting the yardage right and making sure there aren't too many snags in the fabric. The Surat heat can make the mill feel like an oven sometimes, but we have some big exhaust fans that help a little bit. People stop by to check on their orders or just to talk about the current market rates. We have been at this Bamroli location for a good bit now and we know most of the guys in the nearby sheds. It’s just regular work for us.
