Premvati Saree Palace

We’ve been at B-10 in the Rajratna Shopping Centre for a while now. It’s right by Katargam Darwaja. The shop isn't huge but we pack it full. Every morning we open up, sweep the floor, and get the saree stacks ready. People come in looking for stuff for weddings or just daily wear. Sometimes the lighting in the mall is a bit flickery, but we make do. It gets busy on weekends when families walk over from the nearby streets. We spend most of the day folding and unfolding fabrics. If you've walked past the Darwaja, you probably know where the shopping centre is. It’s a bit of an old building. We have some chairs for customers to sit while we show them the different colors. Sometimes the tea guy comes around and we take a quick break. It’s mostly just us working here, making sure things stay organized even when the piles get high. We don't have fancy displays, just shelves full of boxes. The fans keep things moving when it gets hot outside. Sometimes the traffic outside near the gate is loud, but inside we just focus on the cloth. It’s simple work really. We just try to keep enough variety so people find what they need without having to go all the way into the main city center. It feels good to see someone find the right saree after looking through twenty different ones.
