We've been over here at India Textile Market for a bit now. It is on the second floor in building A, right at Kamela Darwaja. If you know Surat, you know how the Ring Road gets during the day. It’s always crowded and moving. We spend most of our time at shop A/206 dealing with synthetic fabrics. There is a lot of noise from the street outside but we are used to it. Our space isn't very fancy but it works for what we do. We mostly focus on fabrics since that's what people look for around here. Most days are spent checking rolls and talking to people who stop by the market. Sometimes the electricity acts up or the stairs are a bit much, but that is just part of being in this building. My family has been around the textile trade for years so this feels normal to us. We don’t really do much online stuff, mostly just face to face business here in Gujarat. If you are walking through the market, you might see us moving stock or just sitting with a cup of tea. It’s a lot of manual work and long hours, especially when new shipments come in from the mills. We try to keep things organized but in a place this busy, it’s always a bit of a struggle. That is just how it goes in the textile world. We are just a small part of this big market scene in Surat.
