Om Mobile Gallery is right in the middle of the Pandesara New Cloth Market. Being in a cloth market means there are always people moving around and trucks unloading stuff nearby. It’s a lively place to be every day. We have this small shop where we keep different types of mobile phones and all the little things that go with them, like covers and chargers. The glass counters are always getting fingerprints on them from people looking at the new models, so we have to wipe them down constantly. It’s mostly just us here talking to customers who are usually out buying fabric or clothes and decide they need a new screen guard or a battery. The space is a bit tight, especially when three or four people come in at once. We keep the radio on most of the time to drown out some of the noise from the market outside. There are boxes stacked in the back corner because we never seem to have enough shelf space for everything. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit and we just sit there and chat with whoever is around until it comes back on. It’s a simple setup and we like it that way because it makes it easy to find what people are looking for without too much fuss. We’ve seen the market change over the years, but we are still here in our same spot.
