National Textile Engineering Industries

Down here at 172/B on Road No. 6, things are usually moving pretty fast. National Textile Engineering Industries is located in the New Functional Estate in Udhna. If you know the area, you know it's a real hub for this kind of work. We’ve got the machines going most of the day, and the smell of oil and metal is just part of the air here. It’s not a quiet place, but we like the rhythm of it. The guys on the floor have been here for years and they really know their way around the textile equipment. We don't have a big fancy lobby or anything like that. You just walk in and you're pretty much in the middle of it all. We spend a lot of time fixing things up and making sure the parts fit right. The estate can get a bit crowded with lorries, especially on pickup days, so you have to watch where you park. We’ve seen a lot of changes in Udhna lately, but our little spot on Road No. 6 stays pretty much the same. It’s a lot of hard work and long hours sometimes, especially when a big order comes in. But we just take it one day at a time. No big speeches, just keeping the gears turning for the textile trade and making sure everyone has what they need for their looms.
