We are located down in the lower ground of Abhishek Market, at shop number 397. It’s a bit of a maze in here if you aren’t used to it. Arvind Silk Mills has been in this basement-level spot for quite some time. Being in a market means it’s always crowded and there’s always someone shouting about something or moving a cart through the narrow aisles. We don’t have windows down here, so we rely on the overhead lights to see what we’re doing. It gets a bit stuffy during the summer months, but we have some fans that keep the air moving. Our space is filled with rolls of silk and other fabrics. We spend the day cutting, measuring, and talking to the people who come by looking for specific patterns. It’s not a shiny showroom. It’s more of a working shop where things are a bit cluttered. We know the other shopkeepers around us, and we often share news over a quick lunch. People know us as the guys in the lower ground who stay until the market shuts for the night. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing team. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for the day's work to start. It’s just us, some fabric, and the busy energy of Abhishek Market around us. Sometimes we run out of space for all the stock we get because the deliveries arrive so often.
