Modesto Weaves Private Limited is over in Nana Varachha, specifically at 89 Maninagar near Simada Naka. We are right on Varachha Road, which is always humming with activity. We work with weaving, so the sound of the looms is something we hear all day long. It’s a family-style business, and we’ve lived in this part of Surat for most of our lives. The workshop is right behind the office area. It’s not a fancy setup with glass walls. It’s more of a practical space where we check the yarn and keep an eye on the production. We spend a lot of time making sure the threads are right and the machines don't jam up. The dust from the cotton gets everywhere, so we’re always wiping down our coffee mugs. Varachha Road is a great place to be if you’re in textiles because everything you need is just a short walk away. We know the other shop owners around Simada Naka and often stop to chat about how things are going. We don't do much in the way of advertising. Most people find us through word of mouth or just by passing by. It’s a busy life, but it’s what we know. We just focus on getting the weaving done and keeping the business steady. That’s how we’ve always done it here. It’s hard work but it feels good to see the fabric coming off the looms.
