Maharani Silk Mills

It is usually pretty loud around here at 212 Lingayat Khancha. If you have ever spent time on Ring Road, you know exactly what I mean. The traffic never really stops and there is always someone shouting or a horn honking somewhere nearby. We have been working out of this spot for a long time. Inside, it is mostly just rows of fabric and the smell of new cloth. It gets a bit dusty because of all the vehicles passing by outside, but we try to keep things tidy enough. We are not trying to be anything we are not. We just show up every morning, open the doors, and get to work on whatever needs doing. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit and we just sit and wait it out. It is a simple way of living. We know the other shop owners on the road and we usually get our tea from the same stall every afternoon. There is nothing fancy about the way we run things here. We just handle the silk and make sure everything is where it should be. It is hard work, especially when the weather gets hot in the middle of the year, but we are used to it. People know where to find us in this little lane. It is home for us, even with all the noise and the chaos of the textile market around us every single day.
