Our site is out at Plot No-12/4 on the Delhi Mathura Road. It’s right near Sarai Khwaja Chowk, which is a big landmark for anyone traveling along National Highway-6. We are technically in the Hazira district, which is quite a distance from the main city centers. It’s a large industrial area where we work on boilers and heavy equipment. Because of the location on the highway, it’s always loud with the sound of traffic and big rigs passing by. The facility is quite large, but the day-to-day work is handled by a group of people who have been doing this for a long time. It’s a hot and dusty environment, especially during the summer months when the sun beats down on the metal roofs. We spend a lot of time checking gauges and making sure the machinery is behaving. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s important work for the region. We have a small canteen where everyone gathers for lunch, and that’s usually the highlight of the day. There is a lot of security around because of the nature of the plant, so it feels very separate from the rest of the world. We don't really do much in terms of self-promotion. We just focus on meeting our targets and keeping the site running as it should. It’s a big operation, but we try to keep a local, friendly vibe among the staff.
