If you go to Bhagal Kammagondanahalli, you’ll find us there. Lal Telecom isn't a big store. It’s basically one long room with a counter running down the side. We have cables hanging from the walls and rows of phone cases that have been there for months. The air is always a bit stuffy because the small window doesn't open all the way. We spend most of the day hunched over small tables, looking at tiny screws and circuit boards. It’s quiet work, except for when the radio is on. We listen to the local stations while we work on phones. A lot of people come in just to ask for directions or to get a quick recharge done. The floor is covered in bits of plastic and wire clippings that we sweep up at the very end of the night. It’s not the cleanest place, but we know where everything is. The sign outside is a bit faded from the sun, but people know it’s Lal Telecom. Sometimes the neighborhood kids hang out near the front for the shade. We don't mind. It’s a decent place to work and the neighbors are alright. We don't have any big plans to change things, we just keep doing what we do every day since we opened up here in Bhagal. It’s a simple living for us, and we are happy to stay in this neighborhood.
