Krishna Science Centre

Our place is up on the third floor of Backbone Shopping, right at the Char Rasta area. You have to take the stairs or the lift to get to units 307 and 308. It's on Chandreshnagar Main Road, which stays pretty crowded most of the day with traffic. Inside, it's mostly full of lab equipment, science charts, and rows of chairs. We have been in this part of Surat for a good bit now. It is a functional space first and foremost. There is usually some dust on the high shelves because we are always moving things around. The windows look out over the street, so you can hear the traffic and the horns all day long. It gets quite bright in the afternoons when the sun hits the glass. We spend most of our time organizing schedules or cleaning up after a practical session. It is not a shiny corporate office with fancy carpets. We just have what is needed for the people who come here to learn. Sometimes the elevator in the building acts up, but people still find their way up to us without much trouble. We keep the doors open and the lights on until late at night. It's a bit of a climb but we like the view of the city from up here. Most of the people who come in are from the surrounding apartment blocks. We keep our own hours and manage the place ourselves. It’s just a regular spot for learning science stuff without any big fuss or extra decoration. We've got things to do every day and we just get on with it.
