Kith Architects & Interior Designers is up on Anand Mahal Road at A/404. Being on a main road means it’s easy to get to, but the noise from the traffic can be a bit much during the rush hour. Our space is filled with a lot of different things like swatches of fabric, pieces of wood, and paint cans that haven't been closed all the way. We do both the outside and the inside of buildings, so the desks are always a mess of different materials and sketches. It’s a small team here, and we usually have the radio playing low in the background just to keep things moving along. We spend a lot of time arguing about which shade of grey looks less like a rainy day. It’s not a corporate environment at all; we’re usually in jeans and just trying to get the drawings finished before the deadline hits. The windows let in some good light in the morning, which helps when we're trying to see the true color of a carpet sample. Sometimes we have to move piles of books just to find a place to sit down for a meeting. It’s a bit chaotic, but it’s a creative kind of mess. We get a lot of walk-ins from people living in the apartments nearby asking for advice on a kitchen remodel. We try to help out when we can, even if we’re buried in a project.
