Our shop is right near Shivaji Chowk on Varachha Road, at Survey No 10 4. I started this place a few years back after working for someone else for a long time. It’s better being your own boss, even if it means staying late every night. The shop is mostly just glass counters and some shelves for the newer models. I spend a lot of time on the phone with suppliers trying to get parts. It’s a lot of work just to keep the inventory updated. The floor is a bit uneven and the front door squeaks every time someone opens it, but I haven't gotten around to fixing it yet. Most people who come in are locals who need a quick fix or a cheap spare phone. I don't try to sell anyone the most expensive thing if they don't need it. That's not how you keep customers. Sometimes my nephew comes in to help out when he’s not at school. We drink a lot of tea and listen to the radio while we work. It’s a decent life, even with the long hours. The traffic noise never really stops until very late at night. I usually close up when the streetlights have been on for a while and head home. The walk back gives me some time to clear my head. Tomorrow will be exactly the same, with more screens to fix and more people asking for discounts. It’s what I know how to do.
