Heading out to Moraiya Village feels like leaving the city behind, even though the GIDC area is quite industrial. Our place at Plot No 423/P/A is right off the Sarkhej Bavla Highway. If you are driving down, you will see plenty of trucks lined up. It is a dusty place, especially in the dry season. We spend a lot of time checking the shipments and making sure the gate is clear for the loaders. The facility is big, but it is mostly functional space without much in the way of comfort. We have a small area where we can sit and have our tea, and that is about it. The staff comes from all over, some from the village itself and others from further into Ahmedabad. We have got a routine that rarely changes. The shifts start early and end when the work is finished, which sometimes means staying a bit late if a delivery is delayed on the highway. We do not have any fancy brochures or a glossy lobby. Usually, there are just some pallets stacked near the entrance and a few motorbikes parked out front. It is a practical environment. We focus on the biotech side of things, but the day-to-day is really just about logistics and making sure the machinery is running like it is supposed to. It is hard work, and the air always feels a bit heavy with the smell of the nearby factories, but we are a good group of people just doing our jobs.
