Goldencrown Velvet Llp

Our place is out in the Sachin GIDC area, specifically at Plot No. 1-28. If you've ever been to the GIDC in Surat, you know it’s just row after row of industrial units and factories. We are known as Goldencrown Velvet and we focus on velvet, which is a bit of a different beast compared to regular cotton or polyester fabrics. It’s softer to the touch but it’s a lot messier to work with because of the way it sheds fibers. The whole workshop usually has a layer of fine colorful fuzz on everything by lunchtime. We have these big machines that run pretty much all day long. It gets loud and hot, especially in the summer months when the metal roof picks up all that Gujarat heat. We aren't a big company with an HR department or any of those fancy roles. It’s just the owner and a crew of guys who know how to handle the looms properly. We spend a lot of time checking the machines because if one little thing goes wrong with a velvet run, the whole roll can be ruined. We’ve been at this plot for a good amount of time now. People in the area know us as the velvet guys. We don't have a website that’s updated or anything like that, we just rely on people coming by or calling us up. It’s a straightforward way to run a business. You work hard, you finish the batch, and move on.
