Cellular Care

Cellular Care is a small spot at Athwalines Nagpur Chawl L/11. It’s mostly just me and a bunch of tools and broken screens. If you walk in, you’ll see wires everywhere and maybe a few phones pulled apart on the desk. I spend most of my day looking through a magnifying glass trying to figure out why a board isn't working or why a battery won't hold a charge anymore. People from the chawl come in all the time because they dropped their phone or the charging port got full of dust. It’s not a very big space, just enough for a counter and some stools for people to sit while they wait. The walls used to be a different color but now they’re covered with posters for mobile plans and old calendars. Athwalines is always moving, so there is a lot of noise from the street coming through the door. I try to keep things organized but when you have fifty tiny screws on a mat, it’s hard. Sometimes it takes all afternoon just to fix one thing that looks simple. I don't have a big team or anything, it’s just the work that needs doing. Sometimes the power goes out and I have to stop everything, but usually, I’m just here from morning until quite late at Nagpur Chawl L/11. It's a bit messy but that's how it is when you're fixing things.
